Overview

The DESS en droits humains at UQAM is a 30-credit postgraduate diploma offering specialized training in human rights law. The program is offered part-time only, over a maximum of ten trimesters, with admission for the fall and winter trimesters. It is classified in tuition class A and prepares graduates for work in human-rights advocacy, international organizations, government agencies, and legal practice specializing in human rights.

Minimum GPA: 3.20 / 4.3

Admission Requirements: Applicants need a bachelor's degree in law with a minimum cumulative average of 3.2/4.3, or a bachelor's degree in another field with the same minimum average, or at least two years of relevant full-time work experience. A complete curriculum vitae, a two- to three-page statement of academic and professional objectives, and two letters of recommendation are required. Applicants must have sufficient spoken and written French and sufficient written English.
