This graduate diploma (DESS) prepares educators to improve pedagogical interventions for students with learning difficulties and behavioural challenges. The 30-credit programme, offered by Universite Laval's Faculty of Education, covers reading and writing difficulties, mathematics learning problems, behavioural disorders, and strategies for integrating these students into the classroom. Teaching is practically oriented, with small class sizes and school-based practicum placements that combine theory with hands-on experience. It can be completed full-time in about one year. Courses are offered in person in the evenings and in hybrid formats, with some courses available at a distance. The programme is intended for practising or prospective teachers who need specialized training to support students with learning and behavioural difficulties within regular or specialized classroom settings.
