The DESS en hygiène du travail (Graduate Diploma in Occupational Hygiene) at Université de Montréal is a 30-credit specialized postgraduate diploma offered by the School of Public Health, developing expertise in anticipating, identifying, evaluating and controlling health risks in the workplace. Courses cover toxicology, evaluation of chemical and physical agents, ventilation, environmental hygiene, epidemiological methods, risk-assessment strategies and occupational health and safety management, alongside two intervention projects assessing workplace contaminants. Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must hold a diploma in a natural or life sciences field such as chemistry, biology, physics, engineering, medicine or nursing. Applicants must demonstrate French proficiency at C1 level in oral and reading comprehension and at least B2 in written expression, through prior French-language study or an approved test; some students may be required to complete one or two French writing courses in their first year. A good working knowledge of written English is also required, as reference materials are typically in English.
