The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Literature and Creative Writing at Universite du Quebec a Rimouski combines literary study with practice in multiple forms of creative writing, including narrative, fiction, poetry, song lyrics, theatre, haiku, and professional and practical writing. The 90-credit program is organized around three components: creative writing, critical approaches and methods, and literary culture, giving students both analytical tools for reading texts and sustained studio practice in producing their own work. Courses are delivered on campus, generally during weekday daytime and evening sessions, over six trimesters of full-time study, with admission in the fall and winter terms. The program develops critical thinking and writing skills that are sought by employers in both private and public sectors, preparing graduates for careers in teaching, journalism, communications, publishing, and literary creation, as well as further graduate study in literature or creative writing.
