This Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (Physiotherapy) at Universite du Quebec a Trois-Rivieres is a 90-credit, full-time-only program with admission each fall and applications accepted from November 1 to March 1; it is not open to applicants whose prior studies were completed outside Quebec. It forms the first component of the training leading to practice as a physiotherapist, giving students a foundational science education in the health field and preparing them for the professional master's in physiotherapy, required to practise, as well as for graduate research. Through varied teaching approaches, the program introduces physiotherapy assessment and treatment methods and prepares students to carry out clinical activities safely and ethically, aiming to train generalist physiotherapists who meet the qualification requirements of Quebec's professional order of physiotherapy and national and international accreditation bodies. It is the only university physiotherapy program offered in the Mauricie and Centre-du-Quebec regions, with a small cohort size and access to the university's anatomy laboratory. Admission is capped at 38 places and requires Canadian citizenship or permanent-resident status, a passing CASPer exam result, and an interview if requested by the program committee.
