Overview

The Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (baccalaureat en genie electrique) at Universite du Quebec en Outaouais is a 120-credit undergraduate program delivered over eight trimesters across four years at the Gatineau campus, with admission each Fall. It trains electrical engineers able to analyze, design, implement and manage industrial projects in electrical energy, industrial control, electronic systems or telecommunications. The curriculum integrates sustainable-development principles into engineering projects and examines electrical energy through the lens of energy efficiency and renewable-energy integration. Applicants without the required college-level mathematics, physics and chemistry prerequisites may be required to complete preparatory courses at UQO, and candidates without the equivalent of Quebec's 13th year of schooling, such as international students, may be directed into a one-year university-preparation pathway (Voie d'acces) alongside preparatory coursework. Graduates are prepared to pursue professional engineering licensure and careers across the electrical-engineering field.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Base college (DEC): a DEC in natural sciences, computer science and mathematics, or sciences-letters-arts; or any DEC or equivalent combined with specified college-level courses in mathematics (differential calculus, integral calculus, linear algebra and vector geometry), physics (mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves and modern physics) and general chemistry (a science course may substitute for chemistry for technical-DEC holders). Candidates missing these prerequisites may be required to complete UQO preparatory courses before final admission is confirmed. Candidates with a cote R of 22 or below are required to take the three mandatory Voie d'acces courses, and candidates without the equivalent of Quebec's 13th year of schooling may be directed into a one-year university-preparation pathway. All applicants must demonstrate sufficient mastery of French.
