This certificate programme introduces students to the importance of the visual arts and their role in the history and evolution of societies. Over 30 credits, students study modern and contemporary art history at national and international levels, covering visual arts, comics, graphic design, and art museology. The curriculum builds a foundation for further study or work in cultural, museum, or arts-related fields. The programme is offered on the Gatineau campus and leads to a first-cycle Certificate in Art History. Admission is possible with a college diploma (DEC) or equivalent, with a minimum of 15 completed university credits and a stated cumulative average, or on the basis of relevant knowledge and interest in art history supported by a CV and letter of interest. Admission Requirements: Admission follows one of three routes: applicants may hold a Diploma of College Studies (DEC) or equivalent; or have completed a minimum of 15 university credits with a cumulative average of at least 2.0 on a scale of 4.3; or possess appropriate knowledge and demonstrate interest in art history, supported by a CV and a letter of interest of approximately 250 words. Intake is offered in the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms.
