Overview
This Master's in Project Management is a course-based, 45-credit professional program that develops a strategic, integrated view of managing projects, programs, and portfolios from initial conception through to realizing their intended benefits. The curriculum is organized in three progressive levels: an initial level covering moderately complex projects through five mandatory courses, a second level addressing complex projects and program management through three or four mandatory courses, and a third level focused on project portfolio management, again with three or four mandatory courses, followed by two elective courses drawn from technology, general management, or project-management topics. Students may substitute a supervised practicum for certain seminar requirements as part of their program. Delivered full-time or part-time at the Gatineau campus, the program admits students in the fall, winter, and summer terms. It is aimed at professionals across any industry who want to advance their project-management competencies, accepting both candidates with a bachelor's degree meeting a minimum grade average and, subject to committee review, those without a degree who have seven or more years of relevant project-management experience and professional credentials. Admission Requirements: Admission requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent; applicants without one may instead be considered with recognised professional accreditation in project management plus at least seven years of project-management experience, or at least ten years of general management experience, subject to committee review. The standard threshold is a cumulative average of at least 3.2 on UQO's 4.3 scale; applicants averaging 2.8-3.2 with relevant knowledge and several years of experience may still be admitted, sometimes subject to preparatory coursework. Language requirements under UQO's policy exempt graduates of francophone universities; other applicants must pass the Test de francais international (TFI) with a score of at least 750/990, or an equivalent test, and all applicants must show sufficient understanding of English. Application Deadline:UQO currently publishes deadlines only for the term now open, which as of mid-September 2026 is winter 2027 entry. Domestic applicants (Canadian citizens and permanent residents) apply directly to UQO: regular undergraduate and certificate programmes close 1 December 2026, while co-operative-education bachelor's programmes and all graduate programmes close 15 October 2026, with admission decisions issued from August onward. International applicants had an earlier cut-off of 1 August 2026 for winter 2027 entry; as of the fetch date that window has already closed for most programmes, and several programmes are not open to international applicants for this term at all. UQO has not yet published fall 2027 dates, and none of these deadlines are rolling; all are firm cut-offs. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
