This bachelor's programme surveys major art movements and the historical and social contexts in which they arose, from the Middle Ages to the present. Coursework covers Western architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, design, and media arts, with additional coverage of non-Western art. Students examine artists, works, and periods through art-historical methods, developing analytical and research skills used in museums, galleries, heritage institutions, and cultural organizations. The programme is delivered mainly on campus at Universite Laval, with some courses offered at a distance or in hybrid format. It runs over three years of full-time study and leads to a Bachelor of Arts in Art History.
