This certificate in Art History gives a general introduction to art-historical methods and foundational knowledge spanning architecture, painting, sculpture, and related disciplines from the Middle Ages to the contemporary period. Students build understanding of artistic production within its historical context and develop critical analytical skills, with flexibility to concentrate on particular periods or areas of interest. The 30-credit programme is designed to be completed in one year of full-time study, and individual courses may also be offered in distance, hybrid, or comodal formats. It is intended for students seeking a general grounding in art history for personal interest, as preparation for further study, or as a complement to another credential. Admission is offered for the Fall and Winter terms, with exceptional Summer admission in some years.
