This certificate addresses the biopsychosocial dimensions of sexuality through education, prevention, and health-promotion frameworks, building intervention skills for sexual-health education and interprofessional collaboration. The 30-credit program is nominally one year of full-time study, with up to 15 credits of prior learning eligible for recognition. Five required courses (15 credits) are combined with 9 to 15 elective credits chosen from eight sexual-health topics, plus up to 6 additional credits from related disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, and law. The program can be followed partially or entirely at a distance. Admission is offered in the Fall, Winter, and Summer terms. Completing the certificate does not confer the sexologist credential, which requires a bachelor's or master's degree, but credits can transfer into the multidisciplinary bachelor's program.
