This PhD programme in pharmaceutical sciences trains students to design and lead original research in areas such as pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics, pharmaceutical technology, and radiopharmacy. The programme totals 90 credits, up to 8 of which may be recognised from prior learning, and is completed full-time, including summer sessions, over an estimated four years. Coursework in advanced research methods complements the thesis work carried out under a faculty supervisor. Graduates are prepared for careers as researchers in academic, industrial, hospital, or government settings, as postsecondary educators, or as scientific advisors. Some courses are offered in English or at a distance. The credential awarded is a Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) from Universite Laval's Faculty of Pharmacy.
