Design (Thesis) (Master's)

This Master of Arts in Design is a 45-credit, thesis-based program delivered primarily on campus at Universite Laval, with an estimated full-time duration of two years. The program covers an open conception of design spanning graphic design, digital design, interaction and information design, product design, and 2D and 3D animation, and prepares graduates for fundamental or applied research in the field. Students admitted must hold a bachelor's degree in design or an equivalent qualification; candidates from related disciplines such as human sciences, communication, education, management sciences, engineering, arts, or literature are also eligible. Before applying, candidates must secure a professor willing to act as research director, as the program centers on an individual research project completed under supervision and submitted as a thesis. The university describes it as the only program of its kind in Quebec. Admission is offered for the fall term only.
