This graduate diploma (DESS) gives professionals with a bachelor's degree outside business a broad foundation in management. The 30-credit programme, offered by Universite Laval's Faculty of Business Administration, covers accounting, organizational behaviour, finance, marketing, economics, operations management and information technology, building the cross-functional perspective needed to manage in an organization. Courses combine core business disciplines with applied case work rather than a single specialization. The diploma can be completed in about one year of full-time study, or part-time, and is delivered through a flexible hybrid format that mixes in-person sessions held monthly or every two weeks with online coursework; some courses are offered entirely at a distance. Graduates gain the general management knowledge required to move into supervisory or cross-functional roles, or to pursue further graduate study in business, without completing a full undergraduate business degree first.
