Bachelor of Science General Sciences

This combined program leads to a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education, preparing graduates to teach general sciences at the junior high or high school level. Students complete the first three years at the University of Alberta's Augustana Campus in Camrose, followed by two years on North Campus in Edmonton, and typically complete work-experience placements in rural or small-town schools. The combined degree takes five years to complete. Within the science component, students specialize in one of four areas: biology, chemistry, mathematics or general science, and must also select a teachable minor to complete the degree. Admission from Alberta high school requires English Language Arts 30-1, Mathematics 30-1, Biology 30 and Chemistry 30, plus one additional approved subject, along with the university's general English language proficiency requirement for applicants whose first language is not English.
