Overview
This Master of Engineering in Engineering Management is offered by the University of Alberta's Department of Mechanical Engineering to graduate engineers of any discipline. Admission Requirements: The Department's minimum admission requirement is an undergraduate degree with an admission GPA of at least 3.0 on the 4-point scale, calculated on the last 60 units of graded coursework (or the equivalent of the last two years of full-time study), from the University of Alberta or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. Applicants with exceptional or tenured work experience who do not meet this minimum may apply for special consideration. Where applicable, English language proficiency must be demonstrated by a TOEFL iBT score of at least 93 (or 4.5 on the new scale for tests from January 21, 2026), an IELTS Academic score of at least 6.5 with no band below 6.0, a CAEL score of at least 70 with no subtest below 60, a PTE Academic score of at least 61, or a Cambridge score of at least 176 with no subscore below 169. Applicants must also submit three letters of reference, a curriculum vitae and a personal statement.
