Overview

Environmental Engineering is a Bachelor of Engineering programme at the University of Guelph that combines engineering fundamentals with environmental science to address the impact of human activity on water, soil, and air systems. Students can pursue elective concentrations in water and wastewater treatment design, air emission control, watershed system design, or remote sensing and geographic information systems (GIS). The curriculum incorporates interdisciplinary design projects and considers social and regulatory perspectives alongside technical engineering content. All students are admitted into the co-op stream, a five-year format including five work terms; students who withdraw from co-op must complete at least one additional summer academic semester to finish the degree. Graduates are prepared for careers in environmental consulting, water and wastewater treatment, environmental regulation, and related engineering practice. The programme is delivered on the University of Guelph's main campus.
