BA/BS in Mathematical Science

The Bachelor of Mathematics is a customizable degree in which students develop mathematical and statistical skills through coursework spanning theory and application. Students select an Area of Emphasis in Data Science, Mathematics, or Statistics, and may take non-mathematics electives in fields such as psychology, computing, or business. Upper-year classes are smaller, allowing closer contact with faculty. Ontario Secondary School applicants require English (ENG4U), Advanced Functions (MHF4U), Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), and three additional Grade 12 U or M courses. Graduates pursue careers across sectors including finance, technology, data analysis, education, and research, applying the quantitative and analytical skills developed through the program. Course selection is flexible from year to year, letting students combine mathematics and statistics training with study in other disciplines. The program is offered at the University of Guelph.
