Overview
The Master of Science in Integrative Biology is a thesis-based, research-focused program covering ecology, evolutionary biology, and comparative physiology. Students complete 1.5 credits of coursework alongside a research-based thesis, typically over six semesters, and can specialize through supervised research in areas such as wildlife biology, marine and freshwater biology, or molecular biology and genetics. The program provides access to aquatic laboratories, genomics facilities, and field research sites. Applicants require an honours bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in a related area such as integrative biology, wildlife biology, ecology, evolution, marine and freshwater biology, or molecular biology and genetics, with a minimum B (75%) average over the final two years of undergraduate study, and must have the support of a faculty advisor before applying. Full-time completion takes 24 months, with a part-time option available over 48 months. Intakes are offered in the Fall, Winter, and Summer semesters.
