Overview
The Master of Wildlife Biology (MWB) is a course-based professional program that prepares graduates for careers in wildlife biology. Students choose one of three specialization pathways: Wildlife Rehabilitation, covering the care and management of orphaned, sick, or injured wildlife; Wildlife Conservation, covering the skills, policy, and procedures used to protect wildlife in Canada and internationally; or Biomonitoring, covering the observation and assessment of species and ecosystems over time. The curriculum combines core courses and electives with technical certifications completed through an Independent Pathways Portfolio, together with a practicum placement or a research project. Delivery is on-campus at the University of Guelph, with a single intake each September. Full-time students complete the program in 12 months across three semesters; a part-time option extends completion to 24 months. The program leads to the Master of Wildlife Biology credential and targets students pursuing careers in wildlife rehabilitation, conservation, and environmental monitoring.
