Overview
This multidisciplinary Bachelor of Arts major examines the physical, social, economic and political factors that shape cities and regions, drawing on anthropology, economics, political science, sociology and statistics. Housed in the Department of Geography & Environment, the program is also offered as a combined Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Management degree. Students develop research methods in geographical information systems (GIS), an area of particular strength at the University of Lethbridge, applying spatial analysis to questions of urban and regional development. Coursework prepares graduates for work in urban planning, municipal government, community development or further graduate study. The program is delivered at the Lethbridge campus, with intake in the Fall and Winter terms, and can be combined with electives from geography, economics, political science, sociology or statistics.
