Overview
This Bachelor of Science in Physical Geography examines the Earth's natural and physical systems, spanning the atmosphere, biosphere, cryosphere, hydrosphere, and lithosphere. Students specialize in Atmospheric Science, Geomatics, or General Physical Geography. The degree is offered at Honours and Major levels, each requiring four years and one hundred twenty credit hours, with an eighteen-credit-hour Minor also available; it is delivered at the Fort Garry campus within the Clayton H. Riddell Faculty of Environment, Earth, and Resources. The program admits both direct-entry students coming from high school and advanced-entry students who have already completed a substantial number of post-secondary credits. It suits students interested in understanding physical environmental systems and how they change over time, whether their specific interest lies in atmospheric processes, geospatial and mapping technology through the Geomatics specialization, or a broader study of physical geography without a narrower technical focus.
