Certificate Human Resource Management

The Certificate in Human Resource Management is a 33-unit program from the University of Ottawa's business faculty, offered in English and French. It responds to the growing importance organizations place on a systematic approach to human resource management, providing in-depth study of three core HRM functions: personnel management, industrial relations, and organizational behaviour. The program combines practical and conceptual skills for HR work in private, public, and not-for-profit sectors, covering areas such as recruitment, labour relations, and workplace behaviour alongside the broader strategic role of HR within an organization. Most of the program's courses are accredited by the Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario, allowing graduates to fulfill the academic requirements for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation. The certificate is typically combined with a Bachelor of Commerce, adding specialized HRM training to that degree.
