This certificate provides a multidisciplinary introduction to industrial relations and human resources management. Students build competencies in compensation, recruitment, staffing, and collective agreements, and learn to apply the legislative framework governing individual and collective labour relations. Coursework covers developing, implementing, and evaluating human-resources policies and programs, advising managers and employees on the interpretation of labour-relations and HR policy, and analyzing labour-relations situations in light of organizational, legal, economic, psychological, sociological, and administrative factors. The 30-credit undergraduate certificate is taught by instructors drawn from the field and is offered evenings and weekends, with most courses at the Montreal and Virtual campuses and some sections also offered at the Laval and Brossard campuses. It can be completed full-time or part-time and may be combined with other certificates toward a baccalauréat par cumul.
