Overview
The Computer Science program covers both the theoretical foundations of how information is represented and processed and the practical techniques used to build software, with coursework spanning data structures, algorithms, operating systems, databases, and software engineering alongside supporting mathematics and statistics. Students can pursue the subject as a major, an honours route with a research-based capstone project, or with a specialization in video game programming, and a minor is available for students in other programs. A co-operative education option lets students alternate study with paid work terms in industry, with completion of the required terms noted on the academic transcript. The program is delivered full-time and in person on UPEI's Charlottetown campus. Application Deadline:UPEI has no shared provincial application service; domestic and international applicants both apply directly through the UPEI Application Portal, and most undergraduate programs (Arts, Science, Business) carry no fixed institution-wide closing date, with applications for the 2027 entry cycle assessed on a rolling basis until seats fill.
