Overview
The Bachelor of Business Administration with a Major in Finance is a four-year degree offered through the Paul J. Hill School of Business at the University of Regina, covering the management of money by individuals, businesses, and related organizations. The major requires six specialized finance courses alongside core Bachelor of Business Administration requirements, covering corporate finance, investments, portfolio management, derivatives, risk management, and financial modelling using Excel. Courses are case-based, applying theory to real-world scenarios, and students can gain practical experience through the UR Investing Student Investment Fund, which manages a two-million-dollar portfolio. The program includes access to more than 450 study-abroad agreements with universities in 70 countries, optional microcredential certificates, and coursework that helps prepare students for professional designations such as the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
