Overview
The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Arts is a four-year undergraduate program at the University of Regina, delivered through the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance together with Campion College, First Nations University of Canada, and Luther College. It requires 78 credit hours of art courses, more studio-intensive than the Bachelor of Arts option, with opportunities to specialize in ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, or sculpture while retaining room for interdisciplinary study. The curriculum emphasizes sustained studio practice supported by critical and historical study of visual art, and some visual arts courses carry additional material fees for supplies and equipment. Graduates pursue careers as artists, teachers, art dealers, gallery managers, museum and gallery educators, and art technicians, as well as roles in film, digital media, advertising, architecture, illustration, and art curation. Transfer students must meet the admission requirements of the Faculty of Media, Art and Performance.
