Program details
Overview
The Media and Artistic Research graduate program, offered through the University of Regina's Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance, serves students whose practices and research extend beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries. It includes a one-year Master of Arts for students pursuing innovative interdisciplinary research questions, a two-year Master of Fine Arts providing training and mentorship for artists and creative researchers moving into professional practice, and a four-year Doctor of Philosophy offered along three paths: a thesis-based Path A, a research-creation Path B, and a hybrid research-creation and thesis Path C. Admission to each degree is assessed on academic standing and a submitted research or creative proposal. Some MFA and PhD Path B and C students may need to budget for course materials.

Admission Requirements: MA applicants must hold a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university. MFA applicants should, in most cases, hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts or a Bachelor of Music. PhD applicants must hold an MA or MFA from a recognized institution.
