Overview
This Bachelor of Science in Nutrition prepares students for professional practice as dietitians, focusing on the science of nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals, along with their metabolism and impact on health across individuals and populations. Admission requires completion of prerequisite university coursework before entry into the four-year professional program. Once enrolled, students combine nutritional science instruction with practicum placements arranged through the Saskatchewan Health Authority in Saskatoon and Regina, as well as affiliated health regions and Tribal Councils across the province, giving students supervised practical experience intended to prepare them for practice after graduation. The college maintains dedicated nutrition and foods laboratory space supporting hands-on and interdisciplinary coursework. The program is delivered on a full-time, in-person basis within Saskatchewan. Admission Requirements: Entry is not available directly from high school; applicants need at least one year (30 credit units) of university-level pre-nutrition courses completed by April 30 of the application year: 6 credit units of general biology, 3 of general chemistry, 3 of organic chemistry, 6 of English literature and composition, 6 of psychology or sociology, and 6 unrestricted elective credit units. The College of Pharmacy and Nutrition requires a minimum average of 70% to be considered, calculated as 60% from the 30 required credit units and 40% from the cumulative university average; enrolment is limited and competitive. The programme page states no admission test score of its own, so the applicable English standard is the University of Saskatchewan's general one: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (minimum 6.0 per band), TOEFL iBT 86 (minimum 19 per section; 4.5 overall with 4.0 per section on the new scale from 21 January 2026), Duolingo English Test 120 (minimum 100 per subscore), PTE Academic 63 (minimum 59 per skill), or CAEL 70 (minimum 60 per skill). Applicants also complete the online Casper test of critical skills ($50 fee) and a personal video interview held between late January and March 31.
