Toxicology is a four-year Bachelor of Science program run jointly by the Toxicology Centre and the Departments of Biology, Soil Science, Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, and Animal and Poultry Science, together with the School of Environment and Sustainability. The curriculum covers how contaminants behave in the body and in natural ecosystems, how they affect individuals, populations, and ecosystems, and how toxicants and their effects are measured, combining core toxicology, biology, and chemistry coursework with supplemental courses from other disciplines. Students choose from a range of electives, under an academic advisor's guidance, to focus their studies on either environmental or biomedical toxicology. An Honours option and a Minor are also available. Students can enter directly from high school, study full-time or part-time, begin the program off-campus, and start in the Fall, Winter, Spring, or Summer term.
