Hons in Psychology Research (HBSc)

Psychology Research is an Honours Bachelor of Science Specialist program offered at the University of Toronto St. George campus, designed for students who have shown particular interest and aptitude for psychology research and who wish to complete an undergraduate thesis. Students apply at the end of second year and begin the program in third year; prior laboratory research experience is not required, though most successful applicants have worked in one or more psychology labs. The Specialist requires 10.0 credits and includes enrolment in a 300-level PSY laboratory course in third year, culminating in a supervised thesis project. Enrolment is limited to no more than 15 students per year and is based on strong academic performance, research interest, and demonstrated time-management and independent-work skills, with a supplementary application required alongside the ACORN Subject POSt request. Admission to the University requires an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with six Grade 12 U/M-level courses, including English, Biology, and Calculus and Vectors, with Chemistry and Physics recommended.
