Studio Art (HBA) is a four-year honours undergraduate program at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), offered as a Specialist (over half of program credits), Major (nearly half of program credits), or Minor (about a quarter of program credits). The program provides hands-on courses in drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, performance art, video, animation, and conceptual practices, with instruction from faculty and engagement with contemporary developments in art-making, criticism, and curation. First-year students complete Foundation Studies in Studio, But Why Is It Art?, and Ways of Seeing: Introduction to Art Histories, and may also select electives in the humanities, psychology, environmental science, and global studies. Students have access to the on-campus Doris McCarthy Gallery and can exhibit work through the student-run Gallery 1265 and annual exhibitions. Program intake is offered in the Fall and Winter terms. Admission is processed under UTSC's OUAC code TUC.
