The Master of Global Business at UVic is a 12 to 16 month, course-based master's aimed at pre-experience candidates, meaning recent graduates and early-career professionals with roughly zero to five years of full-time work behind them. Its defining feature is mobility: students live, work and study in up to four locations, with study in three of them plus a mandatory global internship, so business practice is learned comparatively rather than from one national vantage point. There is no thesis or major research project. Graduates are expected to leave with a global mindset for decision-making and leadership, a working understanding of the comparative socio-economic environments of North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America, and the cultural awareness to work with organisations anywhere.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission to the Master of Global Business requires an acceptable bachelor's degree, or its recognized equivalent, completed or nearly complete, with at least a B average over the last two years (or the equivalent of 30 UVic units) of that degree. Applicants must also complete five business fundamental courses -- finance, international business, accounting, marketing, and organizational behaviour/human resource management -- each with a minimum grade of B-. The program targets pre-experience candidates with no more than five years of post-graduation work experience; work experience is preferred but not required, and the GMAT is not required. The application further asks for a current resume, assessment reports from at least three references (at least two academic), a 500-to-700-word written submission on the applicant's preferred program path, and a three-minute video submission. The page states no English-language test scores of its own.
Application Details
Start Date:September and January
Application Deadline:Domestic applicants apply through EducationPlannerBC, which opens for 2027-entry applications on 1 October 2026: most degree programmes see September 2027 entry close 31 January 2027, January 2027 entry close 30 September 2026, and Summer 2027 entry close 31 March 2027, though Teacher Education post-degree programmes close 2 January 2027, Indigenous Education post-degree admits on an ongoing basis, and Engineering's Summer entry (high-school graduates only) closes 31 December 2026. International applicants use the same portal and face identical dates, since UVic publishes no separate international deadline. UVic treats these as fixed annual dates rather than rolling admission, though it warns any programme can close early without notice. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
