Program details

Overview

The Major in Environment, offered through the Bieler School of Environment, brings together perspectives from multiple disciplines to address environmental issues. The program is intensely interdisciplinary, with students working alongside peers from a range of fields of study. Coursework develops students' ability to communicate and contribute on environmental issues, encouraging engagement with a broad spectrum of ideas and approaches. This Major must be completed together with a Domain, a complementary area of focus; related Domains include Ecological Determinants of Health in Society, Economics and the Earth's Environment, and Environment and Development. The program is administered within the Faculty of Arts. Students combine environmental coursework with a chosen Domain to build expertise addressing pressing environmental and social challenges from an interdisciplinary standpoint, preparing them for further study or careers spanning environmental policy, sustainability, and related fields.
