The Master of Mathematics (MMath) in Computer Science with a specialization in Quantum Information is an interdisciplinary, thesis-based graduate program offered through the David R. Cheriton School of Computer Science and the Institute for Quantum Computing. Students apply theories and methods from computer science to understand and make use of properties of the quantum world, combining advanced coursework with an independent research thesis supervised by faculty working in quantum computing and information science. The program prepares graduates for diverse careers in academia, multinational companies, government, and start-ups, as well as for further graduate study. The program is delivered on campus and completed full-time over 24 months, with admission offered in the fall, winter, and spring terms. The specialization draws on the Institute for Quantum Computing's cross-disciplinary research environment, connecting students with faculty and peers working across physics, mathematics, and computer science.
