Overview
English / Concurrent Education combines an undergraduate English degree with a Bachelor of Education at the University of Windsor, awarding two degrees in four years. Students study English literature and develop their writing skills alongside teacher-education coursework, gaining roughly 80 days of in-school teaching experience in local schools. The program prepares graduates to teach English at the grades 7 to 12 level while also completing a full English degree, combining literary study, from close reading and critical analysis to composition, with pedagogy, classroom practice and practicum placements in the education component. Graduates are positioned for secondary-school teaching careers as well as roles that draw on strong writing, editing and communication skills outside the classroom.

Admission Requirements: Ontario secondary school applicants need English (ENG4U) with a minimum average of 70% in that course. The minimum overall admission average is 75%. International applicants need the equivalent of Grade 12 English at the same standard.
