English Language and Literature is a four-year Honours Bachelor of Arts at the University of Windsor covering English-language literature from early oral traditions through contemporary writing. Students study poetry, fiction, drama and critical theory, with opportunities to attend readings and book launches as part of the department's literary community. The program includes hands-on options such as an editing-and-publishing practicum, in which students edit, market and publish an original manuscript, alongside standard survey and seminar courses. A Co-op stream is also available for students who meet a higher admission average. Graduates are prepared for careers and further study in publishing, editing, writing, communications, education and other fields that draw on advanced reading, research and writing skills.
