BA/BS in Greek and Roman Studies

Greek and Roman Studies is a four-year Honours BA programme covering the language, literature, art, architecture, philosophy, politics, science, medicine, mythology and religion of Greco-Roman antiquity. Students choose specialization options in Greek or Latin and can combine the programme with a second Honours subject through a Combined Honours option. Class sizes are small, giving students close contact with faculty. The department offers field opportunities including participation in an archaeological dig in Greece and visits to major ancient sites. Sample courses include Introduction to Ancient Greek, Introductory Latin, Ancient Greek Philosophy, Roman Art and Archaeology, and Greek Mythology. Students can gain further experience through internships, field placements, volunteer work with local museums, libraries and government bodies, undergraduate research, the Classics Club, and the annual Greek and Roman Studies Undergraduate Conference. University-reported outcomes show a 97% employment rate for graduates two years after completion, based on Ontario university graduate survey data for the Humanities.
