BA/BS in Family Studies and Human Development

Family Studies and Human Development is a Bachelor of Applied Science programme at the University of Guelph examining individual and family health, well-being, and relationships across all stages of life. The curriculum takes an interdisciplinary approach, considering psychological, social, biological, and economic factors across the lifespan. Students choose a specialized focus area in Adult Development and Gerontology, Sexuality and Relationships, or Youth Studies. The programme includes a guaranteed practicum placement of up to 336 hours of practical experience. The degree is completed over eight semesters and requires a minimum of 20.00 credits, including 11.00 required credits and 1.50 restricted elective credits, with the remainder made up of general electives. The programme is delivered on the University of Guelph's main campus.
