The Master of Science in Physics at the University of Windsor immerses students in original research and develops their analytic skills and critical thinking. The programme is research-based, combining graduate coursework with a supervised thesis project in one of the department's active research areas, including atomic, molecular and optical physics, materials science, and biomedical physics. Students work alongside faculty researchers on projects that connect fundamental physics with applied and interdisciplinary problems. The MSc serves both as a terminal research credential and as preparation for doctoral study, with strong students able to continue into the department's PhD programme, which builds toward an internationally competitive level of research achievement. Admission is offered for the Fall term. International applicants must meet the university's English language requirements, such as a minimum IELTS score of 6.5, TOEFL iBT score of 83, or PTE score of 65.
