Overview

This certificate trains housing managers to help their communities access affordable, healthy, well-maintained housing. Management skills are built through a mix of theory and practical application, and the interactive teaching approach encourages participants to test new ideas, refine relevant skills, and exchange experience with peer housing managers in a supportive environment.

Requirements

Admission Requirements: Minimum requirement is Grade 12 or equivalent, or admission under VIU's trades mature-student category. VIU flags that meeting the minimum requirement does not guarantee a seat, since enrolment is limited. Applicants should have sufficient literacy, numeracy, and computer skills to succeed, and must be physically fit and able to adapt to working conditions, with good hand-eye coordination and good health free of vision, hearing, or respiratory conditions; a valid driver's licence is required for operating vehicles or equipment. No standardized English-language test score, portfolio, or interview is stated on the programme page; VIU's general trades-programme admission notes add that a resume, letter of intent, references, or interview may additionally be requested.
