Western University offers BA/BS in Kinesiology, a bachelor's degree in Sport and Exercise Science programme in London, Canada. The programme runs for 4 years, delivered on campus. Tuition for international students is CAD 47,493 per year (CAD 6,171 per year for local students).
Kinesiology at Western University is an undergraduate program examining human movement and its relationship to health, performance, and wellbeing through an interdisciplinary lens drawing on anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, psychology, sociology, and leadership. Students can pursue a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts credential, offered as either an Honours Specialization or a Major, with additional Honours Specialization streams in general Kinesiology or Clinical Kinesiology under the BA route. Combined-degree paths exist alongside Ivey's HBA, a concurrent degree with Nutrition and Dietetics, and a combined degree with Rehabilitation Sciences. In fourth year, students choose among a practicum placement, an independent study, or a mentored research project, giving the later part of the program an applied or research-oriented component depending on student interest. Experiential opportunities include work with Western's varsity athletic teams and the on-campus Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic. The program is delivered on Western's main campus in London, Ontario. Its interdisciplinary mix and range of fourth-year options suit students aiming toward coaching, sport management, strength and conditioning, athletic training, or further health-professional study, while the BA and BSc streams let students lean toward a more social-science or more science-based course of study respectively.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Western's Kinesiology admission page requires two Grade 12 U courses for Ontario applicants, English (ENG4U) and Biology (SBI4U), with Grade 12 U Math and Grade 11 or 12 U Physics recommended; for the BSc stream the page recommends Chemistry (SCH4U), Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U), Advanced Functions (MHF4U) and Physics (SPH4U), noting Chemistry is itself a prerequisite for first-year chemistry courses. Western publishes a mid-year admission-average guideline of high 80s for Ontario applicants, stating this does not guarantee admission given competitive demand. The page lists no program-specific English-proficiency score; applicants whose first language is not English must instead meet Western's institution-wide policy of IELTS Academic 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0) or TOEFL iBT 83 (no section below 20) among other accepted tests, unless exempt.
Application Details
Application Deadline:Western applies through the Ontario Universities' Application Centre, which opens for Fall 2027 entry in late September 2026; Western's own equal-consideration deadline for full-time undergraduate study is 15 January 2027, the same date used for domestic (OUAC 101/105) and international applicants alike, since Western publishes no separate international closing date. Several named programmes carry their own earlier deadlines within the cycle: Medicine (MD) closes 1 October 2026, Law (JD) and Dentistry (DDS) close 1 November 2026, Education (BEd) closes 2 November 2026, and Western Integrated Science closes in early April 2027. Students already enrolled in an Ontario high school cannot be required to respond to an offer before 1 June 2027. Admission is not rolling: applicants are assessed against these published deadlines. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
