The PhD in Neuroscience is an interdisciplinary, research-intensive program based in the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, giving students broad exposure to neuroscience research spanning cellular and molecular mechanisms through to cognitive neuroscience. The program develops individual scholarship through collaborative interaction across the program's faculty and research groups. Entry requires an honours or master's degree in neuroscience or a related field with a strong research component, or a professional degree such as an MD, DDS, or DVS; direct entry from an undergraduate degree requires a stronger academic record than entry following a master's degree. The program is full-time, thesis-based, and structured over 12 terms (four years). Applicants whose first language is not English must meet minimum English proficiency scores on TOEFL, IELTS, or the Duolingo English Test. Graduates are prepared for research careers in academia, biotechnology, and related neuroscience fields.
