The PhD in Neuroscience is offered jointly by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, and the Faculty of Science. It is a research-intensive program covering behavioural and cognitive neuroscience, human brain imaging, systems neuroscience, cellular and molecular neuroscience, computational neuroscience, neurodevelopment, and electrophysiology. Students choose a supervisor from close to 230 faculty members and take part in an annual retreat and a seminar series connecting students across different neuroscience disciplines. The program combines laboratory research with coursework and builds skills in literature review, original research, and academic writing. Admitted students are guaranteed funding. Graduates go on to research and professional roles in academia and industry. The program admits students in the Fall and Winter terms.
