Overview

Commercial Aviation Management is an Honours Specialization offered within Western University's Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies (BMOS) program, administered by the DAN Department of Management and Organizational Studies in the Faculty of Social Science. Students select the module after first year and may choose a Flight Training option that provides the opportunity to obtain a Commercial Pilot's Licence alongside the academic degree. The 11.0-course module combines core business courses -- organizational behaviour, economics, and management and organizational studies topics -- with aviation-specific and geography/environment courses addressing air transportation, typically taken from second year onward. Enrolment in BMOS Honours Specialization modules is limited, and meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee a place. Teaching is based on Western's main campus in London, Ontario, with flight training delivered through the program's affiliated flight-training arrangement. The module suits students aiming toward management careers in the aviation industry or toward a commercial piloting career.
