Community and Criminal Justice is an Honours Specialization offered by the Department of Sociology at Brescia University College, an affiliate of Western University. The 9.0-course module examines crime, deviance, law and the criminal justice system alongside community development, drawing on courses such as Sociology 2240E (or the 2270A/B-2271A/B pairing), 2205A/B, 2206A/B and 3306A/B, plus a selection from courses covering criminology, family and community topics, and applied social-science methods. Students choose further electives from areas including deviance, family studies and community-focused topics. Admission to the module requires submitting a Community Development Application Form by May 1, and enrolment is limited, with priority given to students already registered at Brescia. Teaching is based at Brescia's campus in London, Ontario. The module suits students aiming toward careers or graduate study in criminal justice, community and social services, or related social-science fields.
