Overview
The Master of Clinical Science (MClSc) in Family Medicine at Western University is designed for family physicians pursuing an academic career, junior faculty developing academic skills, or practising physicians looking to build teaching or research capacity. The curriculum is tailored to each applicant's needs through coursework in teaching, research, patient-centred care, and the theoretical foundations of family medicine. Full-time students complete the degree over nine terms, while part-time students complete it over twelve terms. Admission requires a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a B average in undergraduate study, completed residency training in family medicine with CCFP certification or its equivalent (or at least five years of family medicine practice for international applicants), and current practice in family medicine in the applicant's country of residence. All applicants must be fluent in spoken and written English.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants require a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with a B average in undergraduate study, completed residency training in family medicine with CCFP certification or its equivalent (or at least five years of family medicine practice for international applicants), and must currently be practising family medicine in their country of residence. All applicants must be fluent in spoken and written English; those whose first language is not English must provide proof of proficiency, such as a TOEFL iBT score of 86, an IELTS Academic score of 6.5, a Duolingo English Test score of 115, or a CAEL score of 60.
