Program details
Overview
The Kinesiology MSc at Western University is a thesis-based graduate program completed over six terms of full-time study, with a research focus in Integrative Bioscience in Kinesiology. Students undertake original research examining the biological and physiological dimensions of human movement and physical activity, such as how chronic disease can be prevented through physical activity promotion programs, working under the guidance of a faculty supervisor. The program develops advanced research, laboratory, and analytical skills within Kinesiology's broader interdisciplinary field, which draws on the biosciences, psychology, sociocultural studies, and management and leadership. Graduates are prepared to pursue doctoral study in Kinesiology or related biosciences, to enter professional programs such as medicine or physical therapy, or to move into specialized roles in areas such as marketing and government.
