The Kinesiology MA at Western University is a thesis-based graduate program completed over six terms of full-time study. Students conduct original research in one of three fields: Management and Leadership in Kinesiology, the Psychological Basis of Kinesiology, or Sociocultural Studies of Kinesiology, working closely with a faculty supervisor to design and complete an independent thesis project. The program builds strong research, analytical, and writing skills within the broader interdisciplinary field of Kinesiology, which spans the biosciences, psychology, sociocultural studies, and management and leadership as they relate to human movement. Graduates are well prepared to pursue doctoral study in Kinesiology or related disciplines, or to enter other professional programs such as medicine or physical therapy. The degree also opens pathways into research, teaching, and specialized professional roles connected to health, sport, and human performance.
