Overview
The Master of Science (MSc) in Microbiology and Immunology at Western University offers research-intensive, thesis-based graduate training focused on two major fields: the molecular and cellular biology of microorganisms, and the molecular and cellular biology of the immune system. The program is offered as either a one-year route, open to current fourth-year Western Honours Bachelor of Medical Science students with an honours research thesis component, or a two-year route, open to holders of an Honours Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Microbiology, Immunology, or another biological sciences discipline, including holders of MD, DDS, or DVM degrees. Both routes involve full-time study under faculty supervision and culminate in a research thesis. Admission requires a minimum high B average from the undergraduate degree, and English proficiency is assessed against Western's general graduate standard for applicants whose first language is not English.
